Katie Holmes Shares Statement In Leah Remini's Upcoming '20/20' Scientology Special

Holmes has yet to speak about Scientology since her divorce from Tom Cruise.

Leah Remini is speaking out about her former life as a Scientologist, and made sure to mention an incident she faced with some A-list actors.

In clips of Remini's upcoming "20/20" segment, she recalls a time when she lashed out at fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise for "forcibly kissing" his then-wife, Katie Holmes.

"And I said, 'Hey, get a freaking room,'" Remini told ABC's Dan Harris, who conducted the "20/20" interview. "And uh, well. I was written up for that."

Harris appeared on "Good Morning America" Friday to talk about the special and told viewers they would hear from Holmes herself.

"You’re also going to hear from Katie Holmes, the former wife of Tom Cruise," said Harris. "[And] what she is now saying about Leah."

Holmes' publicist confirmed to the The Huffington Post that the actress does not make an appearance on the special. According to Amy Kaufman of the Los Angeles Times, Holmes apparently says via statement, "I regret having upset Leah [Remini] in the past and wish her only the best in the future."

Holmes has never spoken out about Scientology before, though it is rumored she divorced Cruise to protect their daughter Suri from the religion.

Remini's interview with "20/20" airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC; Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology hits bookstores Nov. 3.
