Please Wake Us Up When Katy Perry's 'Rise' Music Video Is Over

Does Vevo have a refund policy?

Katy Perry dropped the music video for her Olympics anthem and unintended sleeping aid, “Rise,” on Thursday night.

A weary Perry wages battle against a pink parachute on land and sea in a video that was clearly filmed in the same canyon from Britney Spears’ “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman” video. (NO respect.)

Annnnnnd that’s about it.

The music video simply finds Perry struggling to ... rise ... as she fights to break free from a chute that drags her harder than Taylor Swift did during the “1989” era. Honestly, the only way to enjoy this mess is if you just imagine the parachute is the anthropomorphic embodiment of all things Swift.

Predictably, by the end, our hero breaks free from her chains and ascends to a better place ― probably that paddleboard in front of nude Orlando Bloom.
