Authorities in Florida are searching for a 17-year-old girl last seen when she left home for the school bus.
Friends and family are searching for Kaylee Posey of Ocoee. Her mother, Katherine Evans, told ClickOrlando that it's possible her daughter ran away or ended up in a bad situation.
"Basically, we don't have hardly any leads. We are just looking for her," Evans said.
"Somebody has to know something. If somebody knows something, I just want them to say, 'Yes, well, she's OK. She's safe. I know where she's at.'"
Posey was last seen on Jan. 25, according to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Ocoee Police Lt. Mike Bryant said Posey never showed up for school the day she disappeared.
“We don’t think she’s in danger like in somebody taking her," Bryant told Fox 35. "Just because of her age and she’s out there on her own, there is the temptation. She’s vulnerable and we don’t want anyone taking advantage of a runaway that’s out there by herself."
Investigators say that, in addition to Florida, Posey could be in West Virginia or Georgia, where she has family.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Grogan with the Ocoee Police at (407) 554-7211.
