Boy, is Kelly Clarkson excited!
The singer announced Friday that she and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, are expecting a little boy. Clarkson and Blackstock already have one child together, 1-year-old daughter River Rose.
The 33-year-old made the announcement via Instagram, captioning her photo, "In other news, River's gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy We're so excited!"
Clarkson confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child in August, after an emotional performance of her song "Piece by Piece."
It seems the singer wished her way to having a boy, as Clarkson previously spoke about wanting one in April. In an interview with "Zach Sang & the Gang," the singer jokingly explained her reasoning:
"Honestly the only reason why I'm hoping for a boy is because they usually say, if you're sick with a girl, you won't be with your boy," said Clarkson. "So I am purely hoping for a boy so that I have like the most magical wonderful pregnancy."
