If Piers Morgan is trying to provoke a reaction from Kelsey Grammer, he should think again.
Morgan announced the actor is barred from his show after Grammer ditched his interview with the CNN host last week because the show ran a photograph of his ex-wife Camille Donatacci in the opening credits. “We have already issued a statement and are not going to engage in this interchange,” Grammer's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, told me. Keeping it classy, Grammer doesn’t seem at all concerned that he won’t be welcome back to Morgan's show, which has been struggling in the ratings on CNN. “When producers make a promise that they won’t show certain footage or images, and then go back on their word, they are lucky to get any guest at all,” a publicist at another network tells me.
A source close to Grammer told me last week that before the interview was scheduled, it was made clear that Grammer would answer all questions, including those about Donatacci. His sole request was not to show any images of her, the source confirmed. Always looking for an opportunity to make headlines, Piers also banned Madonna from his show just before its debut -- to which Madonna’s publicist asked us, “Piers Who?”
