Hip hop's current "savior," Kendrick Lamar, recently met with one of his longtime musical idols.
Following last month's Billboard interview with NWA, Lamar had the chance to sit down for a chat with Quincy Jones, which was recorded for Hypetrak Magazine.
Throughout the 3-minute long clip, the Compton-native asked the music icon various questions, including about his studio experience working on Michael Jackson’s classic album, “Thriller.”
“We went through 800 songs. Because I learned 50 years ago, a great song could make the worst singer a star,” Jones said. “And a bad song cannot be saved by the three best singers in the world. So we went through 800 for Michael. We got a great singer. He's got a great song. It's over."
