Keri Russell is returning to TV. According to EW, the "Felicity" star has joined the cast of FX's spy drama, "The Americans."
Russell, who appeared in last season's Fox comedy "Running Wilde" opposite Will Arnett, will play a KGB spy living amongst American citizens in Washington, D.C. in the pilot, which is set in the early 1980s.
"The Americans" follows two KGB spies, Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings (Russell), who are in an arranged marriage with two children. However, the children know nothing about the lives their parents lead. Phillip has not been cast yet.
The show comes from "Falling Skies" veteran Joe Weisberg and "Justified" showrunner Graham Yost.
In other casting news ...
"Matrix" star Carrie-Anne Moss is heading West. Moss has signed on to appear alongside Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis in CBS's Western pilot. Moss will play an ADA in the '60s-set drama that stars Quaid as a rodeo cowboy who becomes a sheriff. Chiklis plays the villain, a Chicago mobster. [TVLine]
"Necessary Roughness" Season 2 has lined up its first guest stars. Rob Estes will appear as Rob Maroney, Terrence's (Mehcad Brooks) agent. Meanwhile, Evan Handler, of "Sex and the City" and "Lost" fame, will appear in three episodes as the media mogul owner of the New York Hawks. [EW]
Gary Cole is returning to "The Good Wife." Cole will reprise his role of Diane Lockhart's on-again/off-again ballistics expert beau, Kurt McVeigh, in the March 18 episode. [TVLine]
