Keri Russell stars in a new TV show, a Cold War thriller called The Americans. (The season premiere is Wednesday night at 10 p.m. on FX.) Set in the 1980s, she and actor Matthew Rhys play KGB agents. The screening was a few nights ago, and here are a few photos I captured of Keri right before she got dressed for the night. I will also give you the breakdown of her hair, makeup and outfit. It was a cool look that might be inspiring for any woman getting ready for a special night out.

I used SkynIceland Arctic Balm to really hydrate Keri's skin and Clark's Botanicals Ultra Rich lip balm. I then applied Laura Mercier Primer in Radiance, Chantecaille Just Skin in Glow and Korres Concealer where needed. I used Lancome Artliner in Noir to create a sweeping '50s-style cat eye. Clinique's Bottom Lash Mascara worked well to get chunky, spiky bottom lashes. Revolution Organics Freedom Glow cheek color in Blushed and Laura Mercier lipstick in Hydrangea.

Hair stylist Brian Magallones describes what his goal for Keri's hair was that night. "I wanted her hair to look glamourous, yet still modern and edgy to compliment what she was wearing. I went with a modern take on a '50s classic look."

He curled and pinned two-inch sections of her hair and sprayed each with Aveda Volumizing Tonic. Then he used a one-inch curling iron around her face to create more defined waves. Once the pin-curls were set, he brushed out the curl and gave Keri a deep side part for drama. He flat ironed the ends for that modern, undone edge. To finish, he ran Aveda Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss through it to add amazing shine, and sprayed it with Aveda Control Force Hair Spray to keep its style all night.

Keri had costume designer/stylist Frank Fleming pull together a sexy, cool yet elegant outfit. It suited her perfectly. The top was by The Row, her leather pants were by Alexander McQueen and the shoes were sleek black Jimmy Choos. She didn't wear jewelry, except for tiny sparkly diamond stud earrings. Boom!
