Kevin Bacon And His Brother Are Still Trying To Make Eggs Happen

Eggs got an extra side of Bacon.

Things might seem dire these days -- it's the election season, things are tense in a lot of countries -- but thank goodness we live at the same time as Kevin Bacon.

Bacon and a man separated from him by zero degrees, his brother Michael, have partnered up to share the wonderful news that eggs still exist.

Kevin Bacon's campaign for the American Egg Board was apparently such a success last year that he was asked to return, this time with Bacon Bros. bandmate Michael, to write a song, titled "E-G-G-S."

In the video, they pop up into people's personal lives and scare them straight about the nutritional benefits of eggs -- "six grams of high quality protein and no sugar," as well as reminding us how to spell eggs.

“People really got a kick out of last year’s campaign and this year, we wanted to make it a Bacon Brothers effort. Who better to continue waking people up to eggs than the duo who knows and likes eggs best,” Kevin Bacon said in a statement. “It’s an unexpected and clever way to promote the incredible edible egg and have a little fun with our name in the process.”

Hopefully the National Grain and Feed Association will get Joyce Carol Oates to read us an essay on cereal, or perhaps Lawrence Fishburne could teach us how not to overcook our seafood.

We can only dream.
