The multicam comedy centers around a group of thirtysomething friends who each think that their buddies have it better than them. Connolly will play Bobby Lutz, who is described as a married former nerd with three kids and a successful career as a gynecologist. He often finds himself jealous that his best friend, Will (Van Der Beek), is single and frequently dates models.

Two comedy stars join John Mulaney comedy for NBC. Elliott Gould and Martin Short will join Mulaney's untitled multicamera pilot, which is said to be loosely based on Mulaney's life. Gould will play John's (Mulaney) gay neighbor, while Short will appear as the game show host that John works for as a joke writer. [Deadline]

Dustin Hoffman's son scores Fox pilot. Jake Hoffman will appear alongside Kelli Garner in "Two Wrongs," where they will play a couple whose families disagree with their relationship. [TVLine]

Steve Zissis boards Mark and Jay Duplass pilot for HBO. "Togetherness" reportedly "follows two couples living under the same roof who struggle to keep their relationships alive while pursuing their individual dreams." Zissis will play a character partially based on himself, a "30-something actor who has been trying to make it in Los Angeles for almost 20 years and he’s just been left homeless with only one friend in the world."
