Kevin Kolb Traded: Cardinals Get Quarterback From Eagles

Cardinals Finally Get Their Quarterback

After much speculation, Kevin Kolb was finally traded today to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second round draft pick, according to the Eagles' team website.

It appeared that Kolb's days in Philadelphia were numbered when Michael Vick burst onto the scene last season, making this deal expected.

According to ESPN, Kolb will get a contract extension of five years for $63 million, with more than $22 million guaranteed from the Cardinals.

The trade should be mutually beneficial for both sides as Arizona has been in desperate need for a signal caller after the failed Derek Anderson experiment last season. In return the Eagles will get help in a secondary that ranked in the bottom half of the NFL in pass defense last season.
