Kevin Ollie And Jim Calhoun Embrace After UConn Clinches Final Four Berth (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Ollie, Calhoun Share Heartwarming Moment

UConn's basketball program seems to be in good hands with coach Kevin Ollie on the bench. In just the second season since he took over for legendary coach Jim Calhoun, Ollie has the Huskies heading to the Final Four.

The past and present of UConn basketball shared a heartwarming moment after the No. 7 Huskies' victory over No. 4 Michigan State in the Elite Eight at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Calhoun retired just two months before the 2012-13 season and was succeeded by Ollie. A UConn player during the early 1990s, Ollie had been one of Calhoun's assistant coaches for two years. He was initially given only a seven-month interim contract but it didn't take long for UConn to give him a five-year contract extension. The Huskies finished that season 20-10 but were banned from the NCAA Tournament for poor Academic Progress Rate scores. A year later, they're back in the Final Four.

A day before the 2014 East regional final, Ollie said Calhoun was "like a second father to me," per Fox Sports. After the clock struck zero on Sunday, Calhoun certainly looked like a proud father.
