Kim Gordon's Closet: Sonic Youth Frontwoman Sells Wardrobe In Oakland Shop (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Rock Legend Sells Her Wardrobe In Oakland

Dressing like a rock star is a challenge, but it's a lot easier if your wardrobe was actually selected by a rock star.

That scenario is a reality this week at Oakland's Mercy Vintage Now, where Sonic Youth frontwoman Kim Gordon is selling a sizeable chunk of her wardrobe.

"I was cleaning out my closet and I didn't want to go the eBay route," Gordon told Collectors Weekly. Many of the pieces are designer or vintage, and some have appeared in Sonic Youth concerts and music videos.

Though Gordon lives in Massachutes, the rocker met Mercy Vintage Now manager Rachel Cubra through mutual friends last summer.

"She told me she wanted to get rid of some things and I made it happen," said Cubra to The Huffington Post.

The result: an encore-worthy collection of famous duds from Miu Miu, Diane von Furstenberg, Maison Martin and more all hand-picked and worn by Gordon herself, available in-store and online. The sale is co-sponsored by fashion blog Refinery 29, and runs through September 15.

Sadly, many--many--of the online items have already been snatched up. "But we still have quite a bit in the store," said Cubra. So get on over to Mercy Vintage Now before this collection incinerates.
