Kris Humphries is responding to speculation that his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian was a sham.
During an "Access Hollywood" interview, set to air Tuesday night, host Jill Martin asks the 26-year-old NBA player if his short-lived marriage to the reality star was "real."
"To me it was real," Humphries said. "I would never go through something or do something that wasn't real or I didn't believe in, so I can really only speak for myself in terms of that."
Humphries also revealed that he's not dating anyone at the moment; rather, he's focused on playing basketball: "My girlfriend is Spalding," he joked.
Kardashian has repeatedly denied that she married for publicity, most recently while co-hosting "LIVE! With Kelly" late last month.
"Being a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly," she said. "If you really think about it, if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV -- I'm a smart business woman -- I would have stayed married longer."
The reality star filed for divorce from Humphries in October 2011, just 72 days after their estimated $10 million dollar nuptials. Though it was initially reported that Humphries planned to sign the divorce docs, he instead filed for an annulment on the basis of fraud.
