Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were noticeably absent from Kylie Jenner's second Sweet 16 celebration, but with good reason.
The couple took their 2-month-old daughter, North West, to Oklahoma to attend a funeral for the rapper's grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., who died on Aug. 10 at 98 years old, reports People.
Williams was believed to be very close with his grandson, and reportedly was a fan of Kardashian's as well, having told the New York Daily News that the reality star was "beautiful."
“She is beautiful — and she’s just as sweet as she is beautiful — and that’s what I liked about her," Portwood told the paper after the couple visited him last fall. “She was just down to earth, she’s rich, and those kinds of people, they’ve got everything.”
Following Saturday's burial service, the family flew back to Los Angeles and Kardashian later posted a short video of a star-studded family dinner, which she brushed off as just a regular meal at the Kardashian-Jenner house:
