Kirsten Dunst Talks Going To Rehab For Depression

Kirsten Dunst plays a dark, vulnerable girl in the upcoming film 'All Good Things,' and as she told Black Book Mag, the character was a sign of personal change when it began shooting in 2008.

"Katie [her character] had been torn down, and I know what it's like to lose yourself, to no longer know the difference between right and wrong," she told the magazine. "I was ready to play something like that. I had been living life on the surface, emotionally, and I was feeling really vulnerable, so I was prepared to do anything at that point."

The film's shoot came just after Dunst had completed rehab for depression. "My friends and family were put in a position where they had to defend me, and it was an awful time," she remembered about her stint in the Cirque Lodge rehab facility.

The rehab, she insists, was all mental, and had nothing to do with her well-documented party streak.

"When you're a single girl in your twenties, yeah, you go out with your friends," Dunst said. "And sometimes you drink too much. I don't know anybody else, with any type of job, who doesn't do that."

Dunst will indulge in a legendary tale of inebriation soon, as she's set to take on the role of Camille in the long anticipated film adaptation of the Jack Kerouac's classic beat-era book, 'On the Road.'
