This Simple Trick Will Clean Your Grimy Sink Better Than Ever Before

Game-changer.

It turns out, there is a way to get your kitchen sink to look sparkling new, and it doesn't require hours of your time or tons of elbow grease.

Behold the secret weapon that's probably already in your kitchen cabinet:

Heniz White Vinegar, $6.29

Vinegar is one of those household items that can act as a simple cleaning agent all over your home -- especially when it comes to the kitchen. It can lift hard water stains that build up on stainless steel surfaces, remove cooking debris from your stovetop and so much more.

When it comes to a stainless steel sink, simply soak a cloth or rag in vinegar and rub it all over the surface, as shown in this genius YouTube video. Then, using the coarse side of the sponge that's been softened (you don't want scratches), gently scrub the surface clean.

Depending on how badly stained the surface is, you may have to keep the vinegar-soaked rag on for longer than if your sink is already relatively clean. But whatever you do, be sure to avoid using vinegar on granite and marble surfaces as it can etch natural stone, says Carolyn Forte of Good Housekeeping's Research Institute. For the same reason, vinegar is not your friend on natural stone tiles.

Happy cleaning!
