CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Injured Kitten Rescued From Busy Highway In Russia

Watch out, kitty!

A motorist in Russia stopped traffic to rescue an injured kitten that was petrified with fear in the middle of a busy highway.

Just look at the poor thing:

At one point, a truck driver realized that he was about to hit the kitten, and got creative in trying to protect it, leading to this heart-stopping moment:

Mashable reported that the footage was taken from surveillance cameras in Kaliningrad on Sept. 12.

“Safe City” Kaliningrad, which released the video, said the kitten had fallen from a vehicle and suffered a “strong bruise.” It is unknown what happened to the kitten after it was rescued.

You can rescue a kitten ― or any other pet ― yourself, and you don’t have to stop traffic to do it. Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet and the ASPCA can help you find the perfect animal companion.
