Kris Humphries Pokes Fun At Kardashians, Helps Danny Heal On 'The Mindy Project' (VIDEO)

Kris Humphries Pokes Fun At Kardashians On 'Mindy Project'

Danny was playing pick-up basketball with a group of recently single men on "The Mindy Project." While they may not have been the best support, one of them caught Mindy's attention when she dropped in to try and convince Danny he didn't belong there. As an avid follower of pop culture, she recognized Kris Humphries right away.

Danny had gone so far as to quit the practice after finding out that his ex had slept with the new Dr. L (James Franco). Humphries proved instrumental in convincing Danny to go back to work, while at the same time making fun of himself, and his his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and her family.

“You don’t want to be like me, sitting at home, alone, Saturday nights, watching trashy reality TV shows," he said. "I’m not going to name which ones, trust me. You’re better off over there.”

Zap2It's Billy Niles thought the joke could have been better ... or at least delivered better. He thought Humphries was pretty stiff on camera.

Humprhries was fully aware of of his limited acting skills. Us Weekly quoted him saying, "You're always nervous where people are really talented and you don't do this really, but as time went on, just being out there and messing around with the guys…I loosened up a little bit and ended up having a good time.”

Just as Humphries helped Danny heal, maybe this cameo helped Humphries to move on as well, or at least have a little fun with the messy situation he managed to get himself out of.

James Franco's Dr. L felt so bad about betraying Danny that he quickly left the practice, taking away a lot of potential in an ongoing feud between him and Mindy. But "The Mindy Project" must go on, Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
