The Family Topic That Gets Kris Jenner Teary Eyed

When it comes to planning holiday parties, few are as passionate as Kris Jenner. The Kardashian family matriarch goes all-out this time of year, putting together a Christmas Eve event that she deems "magical." There are a lot of different elements to keep track of, but for Jenner's parties, it all comes down to two crucial things.

"Every year, we try to have a theme," she tells "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" in the above video. "And a very important element to any time I give a party of any kind is a party favor."

This year's favors will include one of Jenner's favorite candles, as well as her recent cookbook, filled with family recipes that she hopes her children will continue to use many years down the road. "I want to pass that down to my kids and have them incorporate that into their family and their traditions when I'm long gone," Jenner says.

She may be running the show, but Jenner doesn't do all the planning alone. This year, she works with world-renowned celebrity florist Jeff Leatham, the artistic director of the Four Seasons Hotel in Paris. "Jeff Leatham is truly one of the most creative people I have ever met in my life," Jenner says. "So when I started thinking about Christmas, he was my first call."

From finalizing the placement of the 15-foot tree to coordinating wrapping paper and ensuring the kitchen smells like gingerbread, Leatham and Jenner walk from room to room in the house talking through their plans. But Jenner's home isn't the only one on her mind this season.

"I also want you to talk to the girls about doing something at their house," she says to Leatham.

Jenner's adult daughters all bought new homes this year and while it's exciting, Jenner can't help but feel a little nostalgic for the times when they lived together under one roof. "Khloe bought a house this year, and Kourtney bought a house this year, and Kendall bought a house this year, and Kim bought a new house this year," she says. "I do feel a little bit like it's an empty nest..."

Though Jenner's youngest daughter Kylie is still living at home, she too is growing up quickly. "She keeps reminding me daily that she's 17 and there's only a few months left until she's 18," Jenner says. "I ignore her because that's going to be weird and hard."

Still, the mother of six knows that there's no stopping the future. "One day, I know that I'll look around and they'll all be gone. It's so fast," she says, beginning to tear up before stopping herself. "Don't get emotional, not going to do it, not going to do it!"
