Based on the Cameron Diaz movie of the same name, the pilot stars Ari Graynor as the titular educator, Meredith Davis, a divorced golddigger in need of a new husband. Davis will play Ginny, the overachieving history teacher and faculty president who becomes Meredith's nemesis.

Josh Rabinowitz is out of NBC's Greg Daniels comedy. He was set to headline the untitled single-camera comedy about 20-somethings looking for love, but exited the project after the pilot's first table read. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Majandra Delfino boards "Friends With Better Lives." After exiting "Keep Calm and Karey On," Delfino has jumped to the CBS pilot alongside James Van Der Beek. She'll play Andi, "an attractive and vulnerable mother of an infant and 3-year-old twins" who is married to Kevin Connolly's character. [Deadline]

Ewen Bremner joins "The Vatican." The "Trainspotting" star will play "Monsignor Alberico Iemma, who is charged with the weighty and complex job of investigating and pronouncing miracles for the Church." [THR]
