Kylie Jenner and Tyga have reportedly called it quits for good, according to TMZ. The Huffington Post has reached out to reps for both parties for comment.
A source close to the couple told the celebrity news site the breakup happened just days before the Met Gala last week, which probably explains why they didn't walk the red carpet together; both stars were there, but were photographed separately.
Apparently, Tyga took his mother and a model to lunch on Mother's Day, which has led to speculation that the latter is his new girlfriend. TMZ says everyone's staying quiet about the details.
The site is also reporting that the breakup was anything but amicable -- they're claiming Jenner was upset that Tyga even went to the Met Gala at all, since he was only invited because of her.
Rumors that the reality star and rapper were dating started swirling back in 2014, just three months after she turned 17 and he was 26. The couple maintained that they were just friends, but Kylie's brother-in-law Kanye West let slip that they were definitely an item.
"I think he got in early, I think he was smart. They are closer in age than a lot of relationships that I know. I knew Tyga was smart,” Kanye said during a radio interview last year. “Yeah, I can’t speak on nobody’s relationship.”
Things became official when Kylie turned 18. As soon as she was a legal adult on Aug. 10, 2015, the secrecy stopped and the two were as vocal (and visual) as ever about their romance.
Then of course, we all had the (dis)pleasure of hearing Tyga's song, "Stimulated," for which Kylie starred in the music video. In the track, the rapper gets pretty explicit about their relationship, with creepy lyrics like, "They say she young, I shoulda waited / She a big girl, dog, when she stimulated,” and “She a big girl, dog / I’m gonna do what the fuck I wanna do when I wanna do / She a big girl, dog / I’m puttin’ in, I’m penetratin’/ I’m gettin’ big, I’m stimulated.”
Let's just say we're glad we won't have to hear that, or any other songs, about Tyga and Kylie's sex life ever again.
