Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) defeated Republican Wendy Rogers in Arizona's 9th District Tuesday.

Sinema, a member of the Congressional Blue Dogs Caucus, faced a much easier Democratic primary than in 2012. She became Congress' first openly bisexual member when she was first elected that year.

In March, Sinema briefly weighed switching districts and running in the more Democratic-leaning 7th, but ultimately decided to remain in the 9th District.
