Lady Gaga For Gay Marriage: Pop Star Urges Voters To Back Equality Measures In Four U.S. States

Lady Gaga has never been shy about expressing her support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights, but now the "Mother Monster" has stepped up her game with a video urging fans to back marriage equality.

The pop diva's video was produced in conjunction with the social media campaign The Four 2012, which is focused on passing same-sex marriage ballot measures in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington this November.

"No one speaks more to young people than Lady Gaga," Brian Ellner, a co-founder of The Four, said in a statement cited by Buzzfeed. "And they support equality more than any other group. If we are going to win and make marriage equality history on Tuesday in all four states, we need young people to get out and vote in record numbers."

Gaga isn't the only gay icon to speak out in favor of LGBT rights just ahead of the U.S. presidential election. Earlier today, Barbra Streisand released a clip through the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) in which she pointed to President Barack Obama's stance on the LGBT community as part of her endorsement.
