Inspiration comes from the strangest places, especially when you're playing a vampiric hotel owner with a taste for orgies, blood and glamour.

So what was Lady Gaga to do to prepare for her role as the Countess in FX's anthology series "American Horror Story"? Binge-watch "The Jinx," of course.

In conversation with Jamie Lee Curtis for Variety's and PBS’ “Actors on Actors” series, Gaga revealed that she used "Jinx" subject Robert Durst to ground her character in real-life events, modeling the Countess' questionable morals after Durst's criminal tendencies.

“Every day I would watch Robert Durst in 'The Jinx,' and his wife Debrah Durst, and I would sort of study the practical nature in which he was devious and evil,” she told Curtis. “He just has this extremely practical way of explaining how he’s going to conceal the fact that he’s dumped a body in a river and kept it in his house and cut up his best friend.”

“If I was going to take a guy home and f**k him and then eat him, I wouldn’t know exactly how to do that,” she added.

To which Curtis joked, “Which order?”

Gaga is slated to appear -- in some form -- in the upcoming sixth season of "American Horror Story." Meanwhile, Jessica Lange, one of the series' former stars, has stated that she has no plans to return. Not much else is known about the theme of the latest installment, but creator Ryan Murphy did let slip that children will have a big role to play in Season 6. (So, hide your kids.)
