Lady Gaga Calls Lindsay Lohan's 'Liz & Dick' Performance 'Beautiful'

Lady Gaga's Thoughts On Lindsay Lohan's 'Liz & Dick' Performance

Lindsay Lohan might have been lambasted by critics for her portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's "Liz & Dick," but she can still count Lady Gaga as a fan.

Gaga gave Lohan's "Liz & Dick" performance a glowing review in a tweet on Monday, telling the 26-year-old actress that Taylor herself had critics trying to bring her down.

@ladygaga thank you so much! You are such an incredible force and that means the world to me :) love & hugs xo hope to see you soon bella

Gaga, who was in Paraguay for a concert Monday night when "Liz & Dick" premiered, first became friends with Lohan back in July when the two had a sleepover at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. In August, it was reported that "The Canyons" actress will star in Gaga's next music video, the lead visual for her "ARTPOP" album, the New York Post previously reported.

"[They] have become good friends," a source told E! News about the Gaga-Lohan friendship. "They talk and text all the time."

The troubled starlet was likely relieved to receive Gaga's praise of "Liz & Dick" after facing a barrage of harsh reviews. The Hollywood Reporter's Tim Goodman called it "an awful mess and an instant classic of unintentional hilarity." The New York Times' Alessandra Stanley said the actress "looks like Elizabeth Taylor doing a 'Saturday Night Live' impersonation of Lindsay Lohan."

Lohan is reportedly "devastated" about the criticism "Liz & Dick" has received, a source told HuffPost's Rob Shuter. "No matter how bad things were going for her personally, everyone would always agree that she was a great actress," the source said.

Up next for Lohan is "The Canyons," a psychosexual thriller co-starring adult film actor James Deen, written by Bret Easton Ellis and directed by Paul Schrader.
