Lady Gaga Talks Miley Cyrus At The VMAs On 'WWHL': 'Lighten Up And Leave Her Alone' (VIDEO)

Lady Gaga Defends Miley Cyrus

Lady Gaga made one of her rare interview appearances when she dropped by the "Watch What Happens: Live" clubhouse. She was open and candid about everything, and of course the infamous MTV Video Music Awards came up. While Gaga gave a rather memorable performance, it was Miley Cyrus' twerk-tastic routine that had everyone talking.

“I just think everyone needs to lighten up and leave her alone," Gaga said of Cyrus. "It’s pop music. Everyone’s entitled to their own artistic expression, and if you have a problem with it, just change the channel. I just don’t understand the incessant need to go on and on about hating things all the time ... She’s 20 years old, and if anything I give her props, you know. She’s growing up in front of the entire world.”

That said, Gaga did say that people should stop using the word "twerk." (Sorry, Gaga!)

Gaga also talked about Molly -- AKA the drug MDMA, better known as "ecstasy." Gaga admitted to being a fan of the drug, but warned viewers to party responsibly. Perhaps even more surprising was when Gaga revealed her favorite outfit ever, and she's had some memorable ones. She said she's quite fond of the meat dress she wore to the 2010 VMAs -- the most talked-about moment that year -- because it represented equality.
