LaLa Anthony has come a long way from her days as a MTV VJ. The 33-year-old wife of New York Knick baller Carmelo Anthony and star of VH1's "LaLa's Full Court Life," is proving that she is more than a glorified basketball wife.
Lala has become quite the businesswoman. Beyond building her acting resume with a role in this year's hit film "Think Like A Man," as well as guest appearing on VH1's "Single Ladies," the New York native also debuted a line of beauty products called Motives. Next up? LaLa's foray into fashion.
The star has teamed up with her stylist and friend, Jason Bolden, to create a clothing line called 5th And Mercer. The contemporary collection is sold exclusively on Shopbop.com and already has a star-studded following. Gabrielle Union, Tamar Braxton and LaLa's bestie, Kelly Rowland, have all been spotted rocking 5th And Mercer's sleeveless jumpsuit.
The line "encapsulates everything we love about New York — the chic toughness of downtown and the refinement of uptown," LaLa told BET.
The VJ-turned-entrepreneur joins a growing group of reality show stars jumping into the fashion game. Of course there are the Kardashians, who shill just about everything, Draya Michele from "Basketball Wives LA" who recently launched a clothing collection and Nene Leakes collaborated with ShoeDazzle for the company's Celebrity Shoe Design Program.
"We hope to create a massive collection and ultimately make it into the major retail stores." Jason told BET. "We're excited about the road we're on."
