After new and unfinished Lana Del Rey tracks leaked from all ends of the internet this summer, the singer admits she is seriously struggling to write her second album. In a recent interview with Nylon Magazine, Del Rey discussed what's next:
"When people ask me about it, I just have to be honest, I really don't know. I don't want to say, 'Yeah, definitely, the next one's better than this one,' because I don't really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying."
Also annoying for Del Rey were those aforementioned leaks. Speaking to Radio.com back in August, Del Rey said the breach of privacy had curtailed her creativity.
"I do feel discouraged, yeah. I don't really know what to put on the record. But I guess I could just put them on and see what happens," she said. "I'll never write a song if I don't think it's going to be perfect for the record."
In addition to dealing with the leaks, Del Rey released "Young and Beautiful" this past summer, a song off the soundtrack for "The Great Gatsby." Kanye West was a fan: He used "Young and Beautiful" to aid him in proposing to Kim Kardashian on Monday night.
