Lana Parrilla, 'Once Upon A Time' Star, On LGBT Rights And Why More Celebs Should Speak Out

'Once Upon A Time' Star On Her Passion For Gay Rights

" Once Upon A Time " star Lana Parrilla took to HuffPost Live this week to declare her ongoing commitment to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

"I have a lot of LGBT friends and family members and I've always supported the community, not only as a child but as an adult, and I think it's important to voice that," Parrilla, who portrays the Evil Queen on the ABC series, said.

After touching on a recent HuffPost Gay Voices article which spoke about Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan's claim that same-sex marriage was not an "American value," the actress noted, "I think right now is the most important time for celebrities and everyone to stand up and not only vote, but use their voice. Our president is the first one who has come forward in history who supports this community...I think every celebrity needs to get involved and speak up."
