Lance Bass 'Not Surprised' By Justin Bieber's Arrest

Lance Bass isn't shocked by Justin Bieber's DUI arrest because he has seen the downward spirals of other young stars, like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

"I was not surprised at all," Bass told E! News about Bieber while at the Delta Airlines pre-Grammys party in West Hollywood Thursday (Jan. 23). "I host my own talk show on Sirius XM so we've been following the Biebs for quite a few months. The spiral down. So no, we called it a long time ago. Like I said, he just needs a little chill time to snap him into reality."

Bieber's issues began last year with alleged weed smoking followed by a handful of online meltdowns, urinating into a mop bucket, speeding dangerously through his California neighborhood, ultimately entering retirement at 19 years old.

On Thursday, Bieber was arrested while drag racing in Miami after failing a field sobriety test. He was charged with DUI, driving with an expired license and resisting an officer without violence.

"I feel for him because I know exactly what he is going through," Bass told E! "I've seen it with Britney, with Lindsay, with all the other teen stars out there ... [W]ith solo artists, it's hard because you got a lot of yes people around you and there like, 'Yeah, that's great.' They'll never tell you no. When no one tells you no, your reality is so out the door."

Back in April, Bass shared similar feelings about Bieber when he told Piers Morgan "with fame comes entitlement." He added that with so much success at such a young age it's hard to retain a firm grasp on reality.

Other celebrities took to Twitter Thursday in response to Bieber's arrest, and apparently not everyone is a fan.
