Landon Browne has his Halloween costume ready to go, but you won’t find the full ensemble in stores. He’s leaving princely crowns and vampire teeth behind for the attire of a different kind of hero: his surgeon.
The 7-year-old from Seattle was born deaf, but ABC reports that at just 9 months old, Dr. Jay Rubenstein, professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington, put in the boy’s first cochlear implants.
His last surgery was this summer, and so Landon chose to honor his favorite doctor by becoming a Dr. Jay Rubenstein mini-me this Halloween.
“He’s a great surgeon,” Landon told KOMO News while donning a little lab coat, stethoscope and glasses. He even had a name-tag with the doctor’s name.
Dr. Rubenstein said that Landon has helped him do more research on the subject and is grateful for such a cooperative patient.
“For him to do this makes it clear that he feels the same way," Rubinstein told KOMO.
But dressing up as his favorite doctor is only one of Landon’s talents. He enjoys beat-boxing and music. He’s also not afraid to show off his brains.
“I’m smart,” he told the news station. “I don’t mean to, you know, not be humble.”
