WASHINGTON -- Comedian Larry Wilmore did not tread lightly in his jokes about Washington reporters.

Wilmore, who took over the Comedy Central slot Stephen Colbert previously occupied, knocked former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams.

"I am a black man who replaced a white man who pretended to be a TV newscaster," he said. "So in that way, Lester Holt and I have a lot in common."

He also hit CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

"Speaking of drones, how is Wolf Blitzer still on television?" he said. "Hey Wolf, I'm willing to project tonight's winner: anyone that isn't watching 'The Situation Room.'"

Wilmore also called out "alleged journalist Don Lemon" of CNN and accused the hosts of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" of having their heads "so far up Donald Trump's ass, they bumped into Chris Christie."

Wilmore's jokes seemed to make reporters in the room uncomfortable, perhaps because they were waiting to see who would be targeted next.
