On Saturday, April 9, stars like Nicollette Sheridan and old-school glam goddess Raquel Welch headed to the 26th Odyssey Ball and Show at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The event was hosted by the John Wayne Cancer Institute, and proceeds from the reception, dinner, and silent and live auctions benefited the institute as well. Elsewhere, Eva Longoria and Tatyana Ali hit the red carpet for the inaugural Gala of La Plaza de Cultura y Artes. Meanwhile, the Santa Monica chapter of the American Red Cross hosted its annual Red Tie Affair, where attendees Paris Hilton, Fergie, and Mark Paul Gosselaar arrived decked out in different shades of red.

On Sunday, April 10, the stars of Twentieth Century Fox & Blue Sky Studios' Rio headed to Hollywood for the film's Los Angeles premiere. Actresses Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, and artist will.i.am mingled on the red carpet with celebs like George Lopez and Tracy Morgan. Rio opens in theaters April 15, 2011. Across town on Sunday, Sean Hayes, Colin Farrell, and Modern Family's Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson headed to the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. The Associated Press reports that "Glee," "Modern Family," "Project Runway," and "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" all received Media Awards. Actress Kristin Chenoweth was honored with the Vanguard Award and NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award. The event was hosted by Rashida Jones and Amy Poehler.
