'Late Show With David Letterman': Anderson Cooper Nervous Co-Hosting With Kathy Griffin (VIDEO)

Anderson Cooper Gets Nervous About Hosting With Kathy Griffin

Anderson Cooper is psyching himself up for his big New Year's Eve special on CNN with co-host Kathy Griffin. On "Late Show" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS), he said she makes him nervous during those broadcasts.

"It's very cold out there but I never sweat more than I do in that hour and a half, because you never know what she's going to say," he said. "I'm clinging on to whatever credibility I have left, so the last thing I need is Kathy Griffin."

He then talked about how crowded the space is for those various New Year's specials, with each channel getting about three feet of space. Apparently, the Univision New Year's is truly a sight to behold.

"There's like a large fat man and a little person and a big busty woman," Cooper said. "It's the weirdest thing." Be careful in selling the craziness of a rival network's New Year's special, though. CNN won't be too happy if people flip over. With crazy visuals like that, the language barrier for many viewers may not even be an issue.

"New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin" kicks off December 31 at 11 p.m. EST on CNN.
