There were no big nominations for Latinos at the Oscars this year, yet those who attended the special evening sure knew how to make an impression on the red carpet where stars like Salma Hayek and Zoe Saldaña looked stunning.
Held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood, Saldaña of Puerto Rican descent, shined in an asymmetrical gown, embellished with a belt and tridimensional features designed by Alexis Mabille Couture.
Meanwhile, Mexican actress Salma Hayek was one of the best dressed of the night in an Alexander McQueen black long dress, decorated with gold rhinestones on the chest and neck area.
Other Latinos who were present were actor Gael Garcia Bernal, who is the main character of “No”, nominated as “Best Foreign Language Film” and produced by his own production house Canana.
Among the lucky few Hispanics nominated tonight are costume designer Paco Delgado nominated as “Best Costume” for his elaborated attires in the musical "Les Miserables", Mexican Jose Antonio García, nominated in the category of “Best Sound” for his work on "Argo," and Chilean Claudio Miranda, who won for “Best Photography” for "Life of Pi.”
“Inocente," the story of Inocente Izucar, a homeless undocumented immigrant teen on her journey in search of herself through art, was also within the winners of the night, taking home the award for “Best Documentary Short."
