'Law & Order: SVU': Chris Brown And Rihanna-Like Episode To Air Next Week (VIDEO)

'SVU' Takes On Chris Brown & Rihanna Saga

Rihanna has forgiven Chris Brown for his brutal 2009 assault on her, but it doesn't turn out quite the same way for the characters the couple appear to have inspired on next week's episode of "Law & Order: SVU."

"My Funny Valentine" (Wed., Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC) takes the series back to its "ripped from the headlines" roots, and though it's not officially about the couple, the story is nearly identical -- right down to a scene that replicates police photos of Rihanna's battered face.

According to the episode description, "My Funny Valentine," will tell the story of:

"A promising singer is brutally attacked by her boyfriend, a popular hip hop star.ADA Barba (guest star Raul Esparza) works to build a case, but the victim refuses to aid the prosecution and, despite Detective Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) best efforts, continues to put herself in danger. The case quickly spirals into a media circus, perpetrated by both the defendant and his uncompromising attorney (guest star Jeffrey Tambor) ... Special appearances by Perez Hilton, Dave Navarro and Wendy Williams."

Brown and Rihanna's turbulent relationship has dominated the headlines for years, and has sparked outrage and confusion over the 25-year-old singer's decision to not only forgive Brown, but take him back. The couple, who were all smiles at the Grammy Awards a few weeks ago, so far have managed to avoid the same fate of the show's characters.
