Ripped straight from the headlines, "Law and Order: SVU" is taking on the Duggars Wednesday night after much fanfare.
Earlier this year, the Duggar family's TLC show,"19 Kids and Counting," was pulled from the air when it was revealed that Josh Duggar sexually molested underage girls, including two of his sisters. The upcoming "SVU" episode, called "Patrimonial Burden," will focus on a large, reality TV family that finds out their 13-year-old daughter is pregnant.
Ice-T, who plays Detective Fin on "SVU," opened up about the "twist" in the Duggars-themed episode.
"They just use it [the Duggar story] as a starting point of the story," the actor told "Entertainment Tonight." "They can't go directly by the story, or you guys would know how it's gonna end. So, we gotta twist it."
In September, actor Raúl Esparza, told reporters that the show would most likely address the Duggar family's scandal.
"I'm sure they're coming our way," said Esparza. "I don't think there's any way the writers room will stay away from it, but who knows what form it's going to take. It won't be that exact … Ultimately, it's got to stay fiction and got to stay engaging."
