Lea Michele Pays Tribute To Cory Monteith On The Anniversary Of His Death

"I hold you in my heart always and love and miss you so."

Two years after Cory Monteith's tragic death, the "Glee" star's friends and fans are remembering his life, talent and good humor.

Lea Michele, his co-star and girlfriend at the time of his death, joined in the many tributes with a loving message and photo. Michele honored his memory with a post on her Instagram account -- a picture of Monteith driving while the sun shines brightly through the window.

"I know you would want us all laughing and smiling today," she wrote. "So we think of you and remember all the laughter and joy we shared together. I hold you in my heart always and love and miss you so."

Thousands of fans joined Michele in honoring Monteith on Twitter using the hashtag "#2YearsWithoutCory," which was trending worldwide Monday morning.

Monteith, 31, died of an accidental heroin and alcohol overdose in Vancouver on July 13, 2013.

"Scream Queens" actress Michele, 28, is currently dating actor and model Matthew Paetz, who she credits with helping her move on and "smile again" after Monteith's passing.

When "Glee" wrapped earlier this year, Michele posted a photo of herself carrying "one last thing" off the set -- Finn Hudson's football jersey, one of the trademarks of Monteith's most famous role.
