LeAnn Rimes On 'Ellen' About Her Affair, Divorce, 'Bonus Kids' & Anorexia Rumors (VIDEO)

WATCH: LeAnn Rimes Takes On The Tabloids

LeAnn Rimes took on the tabloid rumors on Thursday in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

In the past few years, the country pop star has gotten a lot of press for her affair and subsequent marriage to married-at-the-time actor Eddie Cibrian. Her frustration about it is palpable in the interview.

Rimes sarcastically sums up the past couple of years by saying, "I went through a divorce and an affair, which was really fun." But the singer quickly followed that up in a more sincere tone, adding, "then I went through getting married, which was even more awesome."

She also discusses her "two wonderful bonus boys," Cibrian's children with ex-wife Brandi Glanville. Rimes claims that the children, ages four and eight, are at the forefront of every decision she and her husband make. "We've always put his kids first," she insists. "We take his kids into consideration with everything that we do."

In fact, it's partly in consideration of her "bonus boys" that Rimes is so indignant about the way the press has portrayed her relationship with their father. "At the end of the day," she says, "it's been definitely hard to see tons of lies written about a situation that people don't necessarily know the truth -- and there's kids involved."

Still, she's not making any excuses for how both of their marriages ended, admitting "it could have been handled a lot better, you know. But maybe we both didn't have the tools at the time to do it properly."

Even though the past year was painful, Rimes affirms that she and Cibrian are happily married now. They've "learned to let [tabloid rumors] go and laugh at it at the end of the day."

Rimes also took the media to task for claiming that she has an eating disorder, saying that the almost casual use of terms like "anorexic" and "bulimic" border on bullying and diminish what are in fact serious diseases.

Earlier this week, Rimes took to her blog about blended families, calling the term "step-" inadequate for describing the bonds between people in a non-traditional household. She married Cibrian in April of this year after carrying on an affair with him since at least 2009. The pair grew close on the set of Lifetime's 'Northern Lights.' At the time, she was married to back up dancer Dean Sheremet, while Cibrian was married with two children. Rimes and Sheremet divorced in December 2009.
