LeAnn Rimes Talks Affair, Rehab In 'Entertainment Tonight' Interview (VIDEO)

Life Has Been A 'Roller-Coaster Ride' For LeAnn Rimes

In an exclusive interview with "Entertainment Tonight," country superstar LeAnn Rimes discussed her recent troubles, including bouts of depression, her affair and whether she's contemplated suicide.

"I feel like there's only about a handful of people that could understand," the singer said about her recent past.

Rimes said she's never seriously considered taking her own life, but she says it's "healthy" for that to be an option as long as it remains just that -- a notion she said her rehab therapist corroborates.

"All of the emotions that you feel ... it's like a roller-coaster ride," she said. "Every emotion changes. What you have to learn to deal with is you have to learn how to ride the roller coaster. So I think where people end up doing something so drastic is when they felt like there's no ride to take anymore."

Rimes said she "wanted to learn how to ride the roller coaster" and conquer feelings of sadness and depression, which is why she entered a monthlong rehab program that centered heavily on therapy.

When asked about the extramarital affair that led to her relationship with current husband Eddie Cibrian, Rimes admitted that she does consider whether Cibrian would be unfaithful himself.

"I would be ignorant to say, and everyone else would think I am a liar if I didn't say yes, and I have at times," Rimes said, discussing whether she's wondered about the validity of Cibrian's fidelity.

But she acknowledged that Cibrian may have some concerns of his own, given her recent history.

"Speaking for him, I would actually say that's creeped into his [mind]," she said. "I think we've been very honest and open with that to each other, and our conversations about it have only made me understand how much he actually cares, as much as I do, about being faithful to each other."

Rimes said her upcoming album "Spitfire," due out this spring, was born out of her recent affair and the traumatic times she endured because of it. She called it her most honest album yet.
