Least Green Companies List Topped By Energy, Agriculture And Investment Firms (PHOTOS)

The Least Green Companies In The U.S.

As part of this year's Green Rankings, Newsweek has compiled a list of the least green companies in the U.S.

Many of the companies on the list are in the energy, utilities and agricultural sectors. According to The Daily Beast, these firms aren't in the cleanest industries, but they also "aren’t doing as much as their competitors to reduce their footprints and be transparent about their efforts."

Several companies at the top of the list are in the finance industry. Their inclusion on the list is due to their "investment portfolios [that] include companies that have environmentally damaging activities, such as coal mining or gas drilling."

Be sure to check out Newsweek's list of the 15 greenest U.S. companies, and the world's 30 greenest tech companies.
