5 Least Literate U.S. Cities

This Sunday, September 8, is International Literacy Day. To bring awareness about the state of literacy, we've recycled this video from earlier this year that discusses a study of the least literate cities in the U.S.

Some cities in the U.S. don't match up to the literacy of most fifth graders. The cities are as follows: Stockton (California), Bakersfield (California), Anaheim (California), El Paso (Texas) and Corpus Christi (Texas).

Live in one of these cities? Help make your city more literate! Volunteer to read at a school, or read to a young relative!
