Note to future opponents of the Miami Heat: Do not attempt to get a finger roll past LeBron.
With James the lone member of the Miami Heat back to defend a 2-on-1 breakaway, Indiana Pacers point guard George Hill challenged the reigning NBA MVP at the rim. \
He was turned away, dramatically.
Rather than passing the ball to Paul George on the wing, Hill kept the ball and rose up. James rose along with him. James then rose over Hill and swatted his ill-considered, finesse layup attempt.
Not only will the block likely find a place of honor on James' 2012-2013 highlight reel, but it provided a dramatic swing in the third quarter of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. James' block denied the Pacers, who were clinging to a 71-67 lead, two points and also led to a personal foul on George, who drew a whistle as he scrambled for the loose ball. Thanks in part to James' effort, the Heat would briefly take the lead in the fourth quarter. The Pacers, however, closed strong, finishing Game 4 on a 13-3 run. Indiana evened the best-of-seven series with a 99-92 win.
