LeBron James Pregame Dunk: Heat Star Shows Off During Warmups (VIDEO)

LeBron Makes It Look Easy

Would this slam have won the 2013 NBA Dunk Contest?

A pregame dunk that LeBron threw down before the Heat's win over the Cavs on Sunday is generating more buzz than just about any (all?) of the dunks during All-Star Weekend. The three-time MVP began his approach at the three-point line, jumped, put the ball between his legs and then threw it off the backboard in one motion. James then leaped to catch the bounce and threw down a powerful one-handed jam.

"50"

USA Today Sports simply headlined its story about the jam "LeBron James should just enter the dunk contest already". Yahoo! Sports blog "Ball Don't Lie" wrote that James "retroactively" won the Slam Dunk Contest with the warmup slam. Meanwhile, Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk wrote that James answered the question of "Why do we need stars in the All-Star Dunk Contest?"

Sadly, all signs still point to James never entering the contest.
