Lee Thompson Young, star of "The Famous Jett Jackson," has died. The actor, who started on the Disney Channel hit at 14, died at 29 years old after 15 years on screen.

Young played the titular character in "The Famous Jett Jackson" for four years, including a Disney Channel Original Movie. Following the end of "The Famous Jett Jackson," Young made regular guest appearances on several of TV's most-popular shows -- on "Smallville," he was DC Comics hero Victor Stone/Cyborg and he also had a multi-episode arc on "Scrubs."

Other TV roles included the short-lived "South Beach," on which he starred opposite Vanessa Williams and Giancarlo Esposito, and "FlashForward" with Joseph Fiennes and John Cho. Following "FlashForward's" cancellation, Young joined the cast of TNT's "Rizzoli & Isles." On the popular crime series, Young played Detective Barry Frost, Rizzoli's (Angie Harmon) partner.

After the news broke, "Rizzoli & Isles" showrunner Janet Tamaro responded on Twitter:

TNT released the following statement as well:
