We encounter a lot of women on the streets of New York City who have interesting beauty secrets. From treating puffy eyes with tea bags to tightening pores with turmeric, we never know what to expect. But when Deborah Ni told us that she usually gets her makeup done at New York's pharmacy Duane Reade, we thought she was trying to pull one over on us.
"I don't like to spend more than five dollars on any one product," said Ni. "Sunscreen, Carmex, sleep and water are all my secrets!"
No one can go wrong with those four beauty must-haves. Yet, we knew that there was something else behind this Frieda & Nellie production assistant's perfectly flushed cheeks.
"I had a phase when I went crazy for red lipsticks, so I have all of these half tubes leftover, and of course, I won't throw them away. I started using them for blush," said Ni. "I put a smudge [of red lipstick] on the apple of my cheek with my finger, go around in a circle and maybe tap it a few times. Then I brush on the bronzer."
Looks like we found a new way to revive those leftover tubes of MAC Ruby Woo lipstick.
