Watching Leonardo DiCaprio Lose The Best Actor Oscar Is Even Sadder The Second Time

Watching Leonardo DiCaprio lose out on yet another Oscar was sad to watch the first time, but the moment is even sadder on a loop.

DiCaprio landed a nomination for Best Actor for his leading role in "The Wolf of Wall Street," but lost out Sunday night, March 2, to "Dallas Buyers Club" star Matthew McConaughey. This was the fourth Oscar nomination for DiCaprio in an acting role. He was also nominated for Best Actor in 2007 for "Blood Diamond" and in 2005 for "The Aviator." He scored a Best Supporting Actor nod in 1994 for "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."

Although the 39-year-old went home empty-handed, he still managed to be a good sport about it.

DiCaprio fans rallied behind the actor, and hashtags like #PoorLeo and #GiveLeoAnOscar popped up, USA Today noted.

Some couldn't help but poke a little fun.

Keep your head up, buddy! There's always next year.
