'Les Miserables' Wins Best Picture, Musical Or Comedy At Globes

"Les Miserables" has won Best Picture, Musical Or Comedy at the 2013 Golden Globes.

"Les Miserables," directed by Tom Hooper, defeated "Silver Linings Playbook," "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," "Moonrise Kingdom" and "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" for the trophy.

The Golden Globes victory caps a strong week for "Les Miserables," which scored multiple Oscar nominations on Thursday, including in the Best Picture category.

"Les Miserables" and "Silver Linings Playbook" were among the most nominated films at the 2013 Golden Globes with four nods each. "Lincoln" earned seven nominations, while "Argo" and "Django Unchained" grabbed five. Those films were honored in the drama categories at the Golden Globes.
