Woman's Lesbian Friend Might Actually Cause Her Children To Grow Up Gay: Pat Robertson

Pat Robertson is at it again.

The conservative televangelist, who was recently named by the British lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy group as "Bigot of the Year," has now advised a mother that allowing her family to meet with her longtime lesbian friend could actually cause her children to grow up gay, Right Wing Watch first reported.

"You don’t want your children to grow up as lesbians," Robertson told the woman. "That’s what you’re talking about -- you don’t want to show them that that’s an acceptable lifestyle for your family.”

Though he said the woman should not shun her friend, he nonetheless noted, "It doesn’t hurt to tell somebody ... 'I have my lifestyle, it’s Christian and you have yours, it’s not.'"

Unfortunately, Robertson's remarks aren't particularly surprising. Last month, he told another mother that her 16-year-old son, who had recently come out, might be gay as a result of being molested.

In addition, Robertson has previously claimed that LGBT nondiscrimination ordinances will put Christians in jail, and stated that gays are just straight people who have "forsaken God."
